I´ve only ever had short or mid length hair. I tried longer but – no, it does not fit to my face at all! Shorter hair makes me look younger and so I have sticked to it throughout the years. I don´t color my hair, I just use some lighter haighlights to my natural hazel brown hair color – that´s all.
As I get a few questions about my hair I decided to share some basic beauty tips in this blog.
What products do I use for hair wash?
I usually use the shampoo, I avoid using conditioner too often. I would only go for a special hair care mask or a conditioner when at the hairdresser. As my hair is delicate I need to carefully choose the right shampoo. Lately I have been using ELEMENTS by Wella. It is regenerating and renewing shampoo, has no parabens and it is made for fine hair like mine. It gives your hair – especially dry hair – the necessary moisture and strengthens the structure of delicate hair.
You can buy it at your hairdresser or easily online, I linked a few shops for you below.
A few moths ago I was facing some minor hair loss. If you should have this issue, I highly recommend to try KERASTASE Specifique shampoo. It minimizes hair thinning risk and after using it for a few weeks my hair loss completely faded. It has no silicon, which helps additionally your hair to recover more quickly.
Best way to buy it is at your hairdresser but you can also find it online at Amazon shop or at Douglas
How do I get the volume?
The first tip is to cut really short layers into your hair. This will give you more volume. I have to get my layers trimmed every 6 weeks, as they grow so quickly. If you have a good hairdresser she will know what to do. A right hair cut is so crucial! Apart from that, I am using three different products to get more volume.
1. Volume Energy Spray by GLYNT
This spray is so perfect for thin and fine hair. It feels super light and if you want to avoid putting too much staff in your hair, you will love this one. You can get more information here
2. Natural Volume foam by WELLA
This is an alternative to the spray, if you prefer the foam instead. They both do the job. Here some more information about it. You can get in online here
3. Powder Grip by REDKEN
This root volumising and texturing hair powder gives you an instant volume and it is the best discovery I have ever made. I don´t take much of it, just a little on my fingertips and I scrub it into the roots of my hair. It lifts up the hair volume incredibly! Read more about it here
Do I have any general tips on hair beauty?
The first tip is to find a really good hairdresser and consult with her! All the products I mentioned above have been recommend by my hairdresser. She knows my hair and whenever I have an issue or I need a special treatment – such as in case of a hair loss – she would find just the right product for me!
Second, don´t wash your hair too often. It gets dry even more quickly.
Third, don´t save money on hair products! Like you shouldn´t save money on your skincare. Buy good quality – it will pay off at the end!
And I recommend switching your shampoo and using different ones, depending on a season and your hair condition.
Well, I hope you found some interest tips that will help you. If you would like to know more or have any questions I will be happy to answer!
